5. A great community at NCC
I've been incredibly blessed to become a part of National Community Church. From the pastors on down, everyone is awesome. It's refreshing to meet with other believers who are going through the same stages of life and are working toward being more Christ like. Whether Sunday mornings before church, weeknights for coffee, or Saturday on the ultimate fields, I always look forward to spending time with my church family. The people of NCC have been awesome. Getting plugged in to the hospitality team at Ballston has been a huge blessing in that regard. I've gotten a chance to serve, as well as a chance to get to know people I may not have interacted with otherwise. It's been fantastic. I always look forward to the Sundays I get to serve on hospitality. Everyone really displays the love of Christ and shares his attitude toward service.

1-4: Ultimate Frisbee, on a beautiful November day, in front of the Capitol, with an awesome group of people
It's late November. It's not supposed to be this nice.
We had an awesome day of pickup ultimate with the NCC ultimate team. I've been blessed with the opportunity to get to know awesome NNCers who like to play ultimate as much as I do. It's been a fun summer/fall of ultimate and fellowship with everyone involved. (Last weekend we hiked Old Rag and had a blast.) What may have been the last game of this year was a great one. Playing in front of the Capitol is always awesome, and it was especially so today. Usually we're not as close as we were today. The Capitol (my favorite building in DC) looms large over the field and makes the deep runs in that direction oh-so much more epic.

Ten Thousand Reasons
Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. -Psalms 103:1
This came to mind yesterday as I was listening to Pandora on the bus ride home. Perhaps not came to mind so much as was put in front of me. I've been listening to a station of worship music on my daily bus rides, which I've come to appreciate...most of the time. Yesterday was not one of those times. I wasn't in a good mood, the bus was crowded, and the dude next to me smelled a little funny. Basically I was not feeling it. As I sat there Crushing (Also known as playing Candy Crush, for those not up on the mobile app scene. It's almost as addictive to me as actual candy...), the song "10,000 Reasons" came on. "For all Your goodness I will keep on signing, ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Bless the Lord, oh my soul..." I realized often I'm complaining to God about things I don't like in my life: stress at work, relationships between friends and family, etc. I'm blessed, by all counts. I often struggle to properly convey that to God. This blog isn't so much an attempt to get it out into the world as it is an attempt for me to stop and think about all the things God had blessedme with and to praise Him for them. So, bear with me as some days I have lots of things to share and others not so much.
